In October 2017, the editorial staff of the Press Freedom Foundation unanimously elected János Tőke as Editor-in-chief of our weekly magazine Családi Kör (Family Circle). Former Editor-in-chief Gréta Basity has, for family reasons, assumed the post of Senior Editor.
Tőke, who had previously been Sports Editor of the daily Magyar Szó (Hungarian Word), joined the Foundation on October 12, and assumed his new responsibilities with the October 26 edition of the magazine.
The Press Freedom Foundation wishes to thank Gréta Basity publicly for her exceptionally successful work leading the magazine through its most critical period, given the change of owners and publishers. Through her thoughtful and enthusiastic outreach to the readership, Ms. Basity has greatly contributed to the process of rejuvenating the favorite weekly magazine of Vojvodina Hungarians.
